Juan Manuel Correa reviews Jerez FIA F3 testing
Juan Manuel Correa was back behind the wheel of his ART Grand Prix-run FIA F3 car this week, as the championship conducted an in-season test at Jerez in Spain.
Juan Manuel Correa set a best time of 1m30.401s on Wednesday amid limited running, but was well inside the top 10 on Tuesday, placing sixth with a lap completed in 1m34.122s.
Challenging weather conditions affected running, and Correa continued to manage pain in his left foot following the season-opening Bahrain round, but he still completed 65 laps across the two days.
The test provided plenty of useful data ahead of the championship's resumption at Imola later this month.
"We ended the test positively, but the weather was pretty bad throughout testing, which limited my running across both days," said Correa.
"We had to wait this morning for the track to dry out enough for slick tyres, but I think that worked in my favour as it meant I could manage my left foot a bit more.
"It's frustrating to be managing it this year, but my focus is on getting my foot back to 100% as soon as possible.
"The important thing is that when we were on track, we looked competitive and were comfortably inside the top 10.
"Now it's time to do some recovery and I'm excited for a busy few weeks ahead across both ELMS and F3."
