Difficult Day for Juan Manuel Correa

FIA Formula 2
2019 Season
Barcelona

The second race of the weekend yielded little results for Juan Manuel Correa.

Forced to start the race two from the tail of the field and running the same strategy as his competitors, it was very difficult to advance forward into a points paying position.

Leaving Spain with disappointing results, the Sauber Junior Team by Cahrouz driver has shifted his focus to the next event in Monaco.

“Another very difficult race for us. I think starting from the back without any difference in strategies from other cars it is very very difficult to come to the front,” explained Correa.

“Not much more I could have done there but at least we had the mileage, finished the race and I was able to learn more and gather information on tire degradation so that is the main positive from the weekend.”

With the next event taking place at the Circuit de Monaco in Monaco alongside the Formula One World Championship over the May 23 – 25th weekend, Correa will enter the event weekend sitting ninth in the FIA Formula 2 points championship standings.
